Rachel Hawkins

Rachel grew up in Calgary playing a variety of sports and is very passionate about empowering people to get back to their active lifestyles and daily activities. At 13 years old, Rachel was inspired to pursue a career in physiotherapy when she began her personal journey living with and managing scoliosis. Spinal treatment is now one of the areas of physiotherapy that she enjoys treating and continues to pursue. Rachel understands the patient experience and knows the value of chronic pain management to help improve her patient’s quality of life.

Rachel graduated with her Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Human Kinetics from St. Francis Xavier University, where she also played varsity soccer. She then moved home to Calgary and worked for Momentum Health as a Kinesiologist prior to completing her Master’s of Science in Physiotherapy with Distinction, from Glasgow Caledonian University in Scotland.

After graduation, Rachel lived in Vilnius, Lithuania for one year. During that time, she worked as a physiotherapist for a professional women’s soccer club while simultaneously playing for the team as well. This experience allowed Rachel to pursue her passion for sports and physiotherapy, with a focus on injury prevention and rehabilitation.

Rachel is excited to be back home where she enjoys hiking in the Rockies, cycling with her family, and skiing at Sunshine. She is thrilled to be part of the Momentum Health team again, helping Calgarians get back to what matters most to them.
